Snappy Sentences

Sentence construction under way. Small groups spent time this afternoon writing complete sentences with a subject and a predicate. Then the group voted on one sentence to include on their colored sentence banner. After writing the winning sentence on the banner paper, they told me where to separate the subject and predicate. I separated them by tearing them apart. These separated banners now stapled to a bullitin board with signs designating which sentence parts are which. Some groups had a hard time following directions this early in the school year, but everyone knows their sentence parts very well.
