Musical Math
We’ve had to be sure to close the door during math this week. That’s because the class is singing their way through their multiplication facts accompanied by me on ukulele. I’ve collected songs that fit the products from the 6s, 7s, 8s and 9s to familiar songs like She’ll Be Coming Around The Mountain, Happy Birthday and You Are My Sunshine. Each day we sing them once through, then a second time in a goofy voice to really help it stick in their minds. Then it’s on to a practice game and a timed test. You might like to ask your fourth grader if they can sing any of these tunes for you without their lyric sheets.
