Happy Multiplying!
Although we have been practicing multiplication facts each afternoon using the Rocket Math program, the class will spend a couple of weeks practicing their facts in other ways during morning math class. The idea is to present lessons in a variety of ways to address children who learn in in a variety of ways. During math class, they will practice and pass timed tests on all the 5s, 6s, 7s, etc. through the 12s. They’ll learn songs to help them learn the products for 6s though 9s that are very popular and effective each year. Students will also play a variety of practice games that I’ve invented. Please check my website on the math tips page to see these. As the children pass a timed test, they’ll move on to the next level. The more practice kids get with facts, the better off they will be once they begin multiplying and dividing with larger problems. So any extra practice time they can get at home will certainly be to their advantage in the long run. Most of my games can be played at home without any extra materials. Happy multiplying!
